應該怎麼翻譯？(一)

戲劇的翻譯，特別是廣東話，是很巧功夫。曾聽過一連串有關戲劇翻譯的講座 (註)，當中談到很多有關翻譯有趣的問題，讓婆婆稍後和大家分享。
未詳細寫之前，來兩段劇本節錄，當中一些句語就被評為很難翻譯。

哈洛品特 (Harold Pinter) 的《背叛性行為 Betrayal》

劇情：戲是講述一男一女，各自背著妻子／丈夫來偷情。這段戲是說他們的感情已轉變，正在他倆的「愛巢」攤牌。

Scene Three
Jerry : It's not a home.
(Pause)
Jerry : ....  I know what you wanted... but it could never .... actually be a home. You have a home. I have a home. With curtains, etcetera. And Children. Two children in two homes. There are no children here, so it's not the same kind of home.
Emma : It was never intended to be the same kind of home. Was it? 
(Pause)
Emma : You didn't ever see it as a home, in any sense, did you?
Jerry : No, I saw it as a flat .... you know.
Emma : For fucking.
Jerry : No, for loving.
Emma : Well, there's not much of that left, is there?
(Silence)
Jerry : I don't think we don't love each other.

乜按：Fucking，loving，應怎麼譯？Home 又應否譯作「家」？ 或是口語化的「屋企」？那 flat 又是否譯作「單位」？ 或是「公寓」更貼切？有沒有更好的提議？


王爾德 (Oscar Wilde) 的《不可兒嬉 The Importance of Being Earnest》

劇情：Jack 和 Algernon 是城內年輕的富家子，他們時常討論怎麼結識女子，很希望女孩子對自己真心而不是著眼他們的財富。以下是他倆在閒話家常，正在背地裡取笑一些親友。

Act I

Jack : You had better dine with your Aunt Augusta.
Algernon : I haven't the smallest intention of doing anything of the kind. To begin with, I dined there on Monday, and once a week is quite enough to dine with one's own relatives. In the second place, whenever I do dine there I am always treated as a member of the family, and sent down with either no woman at all, or two.   In the third place, I know perfectly well whom she will place me next to, tonight.  She will place me next Mary Farquhar, who always flirts with her own husband across the dinner-table. That is not very pleasant.  Indeed, it is not even decent ... and that sort of thing is enormously on the increase.  The amount of women in London who flirt with their own husbands is perfectly scandalous.  It looks so bad. It is simply washing one's clean linen in public. Besides, now that I know you to be a confirmed Bunburyist I naturally want to talk to you about Bunburying.  I want to tell you the rules.

乜按：成語是 "washing one's dirty linen in public" (當眾洗自己的骯髒衣物，即家醜外揚之意) 王爾德這句的精妙是他把成語巧妙地轉一轉，便產生令人會心微笑的效果。但應怎麼譯 "washing one's clean linen in public" 成中文，來顯出原文精妙之處？你會怎麼翻譯？
